“Square Lunch Box – Temari Sushi” lets you beautifully arrange your side dishes. Made from rare straight-grained cedar and bound with cherry bark, this bento box showcases the natural beauty of the wood. Opening the lid releases the fresh, appetizing scent of cedar.
Carefully crafted from cedar, it not only allows you to arrange side dishes attractively but also keeps cooled rice fluffy and delicious. Thanks to its excellent breathability, moisture regulation, and the natural antibacterial properties of cedar, the rice stays fresh longer.
The box comes with fine removable dividers, making it easy to neatly separate a variety of side dishes or even temari sushi. The removable dividers also make cleaning simple and hygienic.
Please note:
・As a natural material, each piece features unique wood grain patterns.
・Handmade by skilled craftsmen, slight variations may occur.
Care Instructions:
Before first use:
・To remove the natural tannins in the cedar, pour hot water (around 80°C / 176°F) into both the lid and the body and let sit for 2–3 minutes.
・Discard the water and allow the pieces to dry thoroughly before use.
・Do not leave water inside for extended periods, as this may cause stains.
After use:
・Wash with warm water, wipe off moisture with a cloth, and dry thoroughly.
・After washing, place the lid and body separately, facing up, in the shade to air dry completely.
・For oily stains, use a diluted mild detergent.
・Do not use in the microwave, dishwasher, or soak for long periods.
Avoid bleach, baking soda, or metal scrubbers, as they may scratch the surface and cause mold.
・Over time, the interaction between rice starch and cedar tannins may darken the wood;
this is normal and does not affect use.
・For oily foods like fried dishes, placing a cup or leaf under the food helps prevent staining.
・Before filling, you can briefly soak the box in water, discard the water, and wipe dry.
This reduces sticking and staining from rice or side dishes.
・If stains from oils appear, gently rub with fine sandpaper.
