Developed in collaboration with skilled craftspeople, this “Kaneichi” Shuro Palm Broom was created in response to customer requests for a wider version of our popular traditional brooms. Handcrafted in Wakayama, Japan — the historic center of shuro (palm fiber) broommaking — it combines beauty, balance, and exceptional function.

Although it appears large at first glance, the 11-bundle design is lightweight and easy to handle. Its long handle allows for comfortable two-handed sweeping without the need to bend over, making it ideal for everyday use in both small rooms and standard living spaces.

The natural shuro fibers are soft yet resilient, effectively collecting even the finest dust particles without scattering them into the air.

Gentle on floors, the broom’s natural oils leave behind a subtle sheen, eliminating the need for wax or polish.

This handcrafted broom represents Japan’s dedication to sustainable, long-lasting tools—an eco-friendly alternative to electric cleaning devices that you can enjoy for decades.

How to Use
Because the broom is made from natural palm bark, some fine powder may fall off during initial use. Shake the broom thoroughly before first use to remove loose fibers. Avoid using it on tatami mats or carpets initially to prevent scattering dust.

Care & Caution
With proper care, a shuro broom can last 10–20 years. Avoid leaning it against a wall to prevent deformation of the bristles. Instead, hang it on a hook or nail to maintain its shape and prolong its life. Store in a dry, well-ventilated area after use.
