Wild cherry blossoms as the material contains bactericidal effect so as to be best suitable for protecting tea leaves from moisture thanks to the characteristics of the bark. The tea caddy is put out by a technique called “Katamono (pottery made by mold) Eand it is manufactured in the process that piles Prunus jamasakura bark and wood shavings to wrap around the wooden pattern so that the inner core (inner cylinder) and outer core (outer cylinder) can be just fit perfectly to be stuck together with metal iron. The round tea caddy is designed based on the technique. The outer core which has been cut into round slices and the 3 kinds of the material upon rearrangement is covered on the inner core to realize the richly colorful design. Bark of cherry tree is used for the inside entirely, which can keep the bactericidal effect and excellent sealability as it is in the past. The two-colored tea caddy can be also used as a small container for tea snacks and nuts. Furthermore, if you arrange it as a container for sugar to be put in coffee in combination with the other tea caddy, the table can become more colorful as well.
■Care after use・Among birch work, polished products are not painted because we want customers to enjoy the original texture of the material.Therefore, moisture should be avoided as much as possible. In the unlikely event that moisture gets on it, wipe it off immediately with a soft, dry cloth.・Avoid washing with water, as it may cause peeling of the skin on the surface and distortion of the entire product.
