Aiba

The history of Aiba began in 1689 when the original founder Chobei came up from Aiba of Omi Province to the capital and opened the store.

Kyo Uchiwa (fan) is called ""Miyako (capital) Uchiwa"" and used in the court so extremely graceful pictures were drawn on the surface.

After that, it has been widely used as a common fan for ordinary people and established as Kyo Uchiwa today.

Aiba has been the special store since the seventh head and it has been making Kyo Uchiwa which has been transmitting the tradition of the Imperial Palace.

The present head is the tenth generation. He endeavors to transmit the production technique of Kyo Uchiwa only Aiba is available to provide to today and keep on creating new fans culture.
